Carson Hocevar paces NASCAR Cup Series practice at Texas

On Saturday morning, Carson Hocevar was the fastest man in Fort Worth, Texas.

The 22-year-old driver from Portage, Michigan, was fastest on the speed chart in Saturday's NASCAR Cup Series practice session at Texas Motor Speedway with a lap of 28.28 seconds.

A.J. Allmendinger, Noah Gragson, Kyle Larson and Michael McDowell rounded out the top five, with Josh Berry, Alex Bowman, Tyler Reddick, Erik Jones and Austin Dillon completing the top 10.

Chad Finchum's No. 66 was the slowest car in Saturday's practice session, clocking in 38th out of 38 cars.

Texas has been a good track for Hocevar in the past. At TMS in 2024, he earned the first top-10 finish of his Cup Series career. Texas was also the site of Hocevar's first win in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2023.

Cup Series qualifying is next up on the docket, with Prime Video and PRN coverage. The Wurth 400 will go green shortly after 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, with coverage on FS1, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.  Pre-race coverage will begin at 2 p.m. ET on FS1 and 2:30 p.m. ET on PRN.

Chase Elliott, who was 23rd fastest in practice on Saturday, is the defending winner.
