Casey Mears returning for 3 more Cup races this season

Casey Mears will return to the NASCAR Cup Series at the end of the 2025 season. On Thursday, Garage 66 and MBM Motorsports announced Mears will drive the No. 66 Ford Mustang in the final three races of the year. Fans will see Mears at Talladega on Oct. 19, Martinsville on Oct. 26, and the NASCAR Cup Series Championship race at Phoenix on Nov. 2.

Earlier this year, Casey Mears returned to the NASCAR Cup Series, competing in the spring Martinsville race. He then raced at Daytona at the end of the regular season on Aug. 23. Mears has competed in 491 Cup Series races in 16 years.

“I’m excited we were able to put these three races together, and I appreciate the ongoing support from Bob Germain, S.I. Yachts, and Acrisure,” Mears said in a press release . “Given our close friendship, it’s touching that Bob is willing to invest in me after all these years; it shows his character and who he is as a person. It also means a lot that Acrisure continues to support us; they stepped up first this year at Martinsville and helped get this program started. Thanks to Carl Long and Garage 66 for all of their hard work because they’ve worked hard to ramp up and make it happen.”

Looking at Casey Mears’ NASCAR Cup Series career

Mears began his NASCAR Cup Series career in 2003. The 47-year-old has driven for multiple teams over the years and has recorded one win and 51 top-10 finishes. Mears last competed in the NASCAR Cup Series full-time in 2016, driving the No. 13 Chevrolet for Germain Racing.

Mears’ primary sponsor for his next three races will be the Germain family and S.I. Yachts, which is owned by Germain Motor Company. Germain Racing owner Bob Germain is ready for Mears’ return to the Cup Series.

“We achieved significant success in NASCAR with two Truck Series Championships, and Casey played a key role in the development of our Cup Series program,” Germain said. “I’m proud that the years he spent driving our No. 13 car accounted for many of his Cup starts, and I’m happy we’re partnering in his pursuit of hitting 500. Casey and I have remained close over the years, and he was always one of our biggest supporters.”
