Chase Elliott reports his shoulder will be good to go for Busch Light Clash

It appears that Chase Elliott’s recovery from shoulder surgery is going along just fine, he will be just fine for the Busch Light Clash. That means he will also be good to go for the Daytona 500. The NASCAR champion had surgery over the offseason to fix a minor issue.

Much like Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott is recovering just fine. Both drivers underwent shoulder surgery this offseason and both have reported that they are going to be good to race in Los Angeles.

The opening exhibition race of the season will be the start of the 2024 season. It is a tight, quarter-mile track inside of the LA Coliseum. That means tight turns and often. The finale on Sunday night is going to be a 150-lap bash.

So, it will be a true test for Chase Elliott and his recovering shoulder. He expects to be good, and that is good for fans. And NASCAR. Elliott is the sport’s most popular driver and he brings in ratings.

Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports spoke with Elliott about his recovery.

Caught up with Denny Hamlin at FOX production days and he says his shoulder rehab is progressing so he doesn’t plan to have a backup driver for the Clash. Chase Elliott, whose shoulder surgery wasn’t as intensive, also said he is good for the Clash.

With Chase Elliott back for the 2024 season 100% healthy, fans will expect a lot. Elliott expects a lot, as does his Hendrick Motorsports team.

Chase Elliott racing special NAPA paint scheme at Clash

When practice starts in Los Angeles, Elliott will be in a special NAPA paint scheme. It’s an unofficial “white out” as the No. 9 Chevy Camaro will be almost completely white with blue NAPA lettering, minimalist design, and of course, the iconic yellow logo on the hood.

In my opinion, this is a fantastic scheme. The No. 9 hasn’t looked this good in a while. NAPA already gave us a predominantly dark blue paint scheme which I think is also an improvement on past looks. However, this new design goes above and beyond.

I think fans are going to like this one enough to see it again in the future. Between this and William Byron’s Valvoline scheme, I don’t know what my favorite Hendrick Motorsports design is.

The Busch Light Clash is weeks away. That means, Chase Elliott is weeks away from the race track as well. Fans want to see a new and rejuvenated Elliott, with his shoulder all healed up, he’s going to be ready to go.
