One of NASCAR's biggest personalities will be back on the track in Nashville.
Clint Bowyer will make his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start since 2016 on Friday, racing in the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Superspeedway. Bowyer will pilot the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports.
Bowyer's last Truck Series start came in the 2016 Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway, where he wheeled GMS Racing's No. 24 truck to a fifth-place finish.
The expectations for Bowyer's performance on Friday are completely unknown, but it should be noted that he'll have one of the best trucks in the series under him. Despite being driven by myriad drivers in 2024, the No. 7 truck currently sits fifth in owner points, and won races with Kyle Busch at Atlanta and Texas earlier in the season.
Friday afternoon's practice will be crucial for Bowyer, who will be looking to soak up all the information he can in the 30-minute session. Procuring a good starting spot will also be important for Bowyer, who will be driving against one of the most talented fields in Truck Series history.
With a race length of just 150 laps set for Friday, Bowyer will have to learn on the fly, adapting to both the truck itself and the driving styles of his competitors. One thing is for sure - if Bowyer is in the mix on Friday night, he'll likely go all out for the win. With nothing to lose and a fire in his belly, the 45-year-old has no reason to hold anything back.
Practice and qualifying will be held on Friday afternoon, with practice starting at 4:30 p.m. ET and qualifying commencing just after 5 p.m. ET. The Rackley Roofing 200 will go green shortly after 8 p.m. ET, with coverage on FS2, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
