Connor Zilisch wins pole for NASCAR O'Reilly Series race at COTA

A pair of JR Motorsports teammates will lead the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series field to the green flag in Saturday's Focused Health 250 at Circuit of the Americas. 

With a lap of 97.740 seconds, Cup Series rookie Connor Zilisch won the pole over fellow Cup Series driver Shane van Gisbergen. 

Zilisch is the defending Focused Health 250 winner. 

Notable qualifying results

Van Gisbergen, Austin Hill, Brandon Jones and 2024 series champion Justin Allgaier rounded out the top five, with Carson Kvapil, Brent Crews, Sam Mayer, Atlanta winner Sheldon Creed and Sammy Smith completed the top 10. 

Mayer was fastest in practice earlier on Friday afternoon.

Other notable qualifying results include Jesse Love in 11th, Corey Day in 12th, Rajah Caruth in 19th, 2022 Cup Series COTA winner Ross Chastain in 21st and Sage Karam in 22nd. 

Josh Williams and Tyler Gonzalez both failed to qualify for the race, while Austin J. Hill made the show based on owner points despite not turning a qualifying lap after blowing an engine in practice. 

Saturday's Focused Health 250 is set to go green shortly after 3 p.m. ET, with coverage on the CW, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Pre-race coverage will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET on the CW and PRN.
