Through the first eight races of the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, Corey Heim has been far and away the best driver in the series.
The 22-year-old from Marietta, Georgia, is currently the Truck Series points leader by 46 markers over Chandler Smith following Heim's win at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday.
When you take a closer look at Heim's numbers, however - as well as those of his competitors — you'll find a driver that is much more dominant than he may appear to be on the surface. So, without further ado, let's give Heim's statistics context and figure out just how good the 2025 Truck Series championship favorite has been this season.
Race and stage wins
Heim leads the series in race wins with three, but perhaps the more impressive statistic is his number of stage wins. Heim has five stage victories so far this season out of 16 stages. Not only are Heim's five stage wins tops in the series, they're more than second through seventh in the standings have combined between them. Heim's total of 104 stage points is also best in the Truck Series.
Top-five and top-10 finishes
Top-five finishes are a rare category that Heim does not lead in, but his five top-five efforts put him behind only Tyler Ankrum. Heim is also tied with Ankrum for the most top-10s in the series with seven.
Laps led
Heim's 442 laps led are easily the most in the series, but like his stage wins, there's a more eye-opening statistic to take a look at. Those 442 laps out front mean Heim has led more laps than the drivers who are second through seventh in the Truck Series standings.
On a race-by-race basis, Heim has led the most laps in five of the series' eight races this season. That includes races at Rockingham, Homestead-Miami and Martinsville, where without a poor strategy call, electrical issues and a flat tire, respectively, Heim could've collected three more wins.
Needless to say, Heim is the Truck Series championship favorite for good reason. He very well could've won six of the season's first eight races, and the No. 11 Toyota will have another excellent shot at victory in Saturday's Heart of America 200 at Kansas Speedway (7:30 p.m. ET, FS1, NRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
