Corey Heim Has Warning For 'Idiot' NASCAR Driver After Saturday's Race

Corey Heim was in position to win Saturday's race at North Wilkesboro Speedway, but a collision resulted in him settling for a 17th-place finish.

As Heim was racing for the win, his No. 11 Toyota spun out of control because Layne Riggs pushed him up the track. That opened the door for Riggs' teammate, Chandler Smith, to claim first place for Front Row Motorsports.

Heim led for 162 of the 255 laps at North Wilkesboro Speedway. During a post-race interview with FOX, he was asked about his unfortunate finish. Obviously, he wasn't thrilled with Riggs' antics.

"Just why, more than anything," Heim said. "He tried to do it to the No. 7 last week for the win. Mission accomplished for him this week I guess, and it cost him one too. I don’t know. Just brutal.

"I mean, we’ve given up so many of them this year, after pretty much dominating most of this race. The No. 38 was the only other guy that was rightfully good, so he probably deserved to win if anybody, not the No. 34. We got really loose into (turn) three, we struggled being loose in the short runs. He had an opportunity and he wrecked me."

A few moments later, Heim confronted Riggs on pit road. Unsurprisingly, he didn't pull any of his punches.

Heim didn't just call Riggs an "idiot," he suggested that someone will eventually take him out.

"You're racing like a [expletive] idiot," Heim told Riggs. "Calm down or else someone’s going to take care of you."

That confrontation didn't faze Riggs, who said he doesn't regret his decision. The only thing he's frustrated about is coming in second.

"If I have a reputation of going for wins, I’m not going to regret that at all," Riggs said. "You know, I feel like I came from short-track racing, last-lap battles, and feel like that’s what this kind of racing is made for. I feel like it’s not like we’ve seen at Martinsville in the past, and gotten upset. I feel like it was a strong move, and I thought it was going to pay off. But sadly, didn’t get the win."

It's certainly possible this feud between Heim and Riggs lingers into next Friday's race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Heim is still at the top of the Truck Series standings despite this Saturday's results.
