Dale Earnhardt Jr. reveals two Cup Series drivers helped with music for NASCAR 25 game

Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed that two drivers helped with the music for the upcoming video game, NASCAR 25. The NASCAR Hall of Famer went to X/Twitter to announce that Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace “helped influence some music” for the game that will be released in October.

Earnhardt also revealed that there will be songs from the rock groups Breaking Benjamin and Royal Blood. “Cool thing about [Breaking Benjamin] being included in [NASCAR 25], they reached out to us to express interest.” Earnhardt wrote. “That was awesome that they had that energy and were appreciative of their connection to past racing releases.”

Earnhardt’s reveal of Blaney and Wallace helping with the music in NASCAR 25 came nearly a week after iRacing and NASCAR announced the game would be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on Oct. 14. The game will also be available on PC via stream.

NASCAR 25 has been in development for the last two years. In October 2023, iRacing acquired NASCAR Team Properties’ exclusive simulation-style console racing games licence from Motorsport Games. Last November, Earnhardt talked about creating the soundtrack for NASCAR 25.

“The great thing about being asked to be involved in this is I get to kind of go on this ride to learn about how you get the rights to these songs, what does that cost? How expensive is it?” Dale Earnhardt Jr. said on Dale Jr. Download at the time. “…It’ll be fun to see what kind of budget we have, what kind of expense this will cost, I’m going to learn so much through this process. You have to have somebody go out and reach out to each individual person that owns the license, and it might be multiple people that own the license to one song, and you have to pay each one of those individuals. It’s not a simple situation.”

Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace will be in the game, as NASCAR 25 will include some of the biggest stars and top teams in the NASCAR Cup Series. The game will also feature the Xfinity Series, Truck Series and ARCA Menards Series, and all four series can be played in NASCAR 25‘s Career Mode and other gameplay modes, including quick races and seasons.
