NASCAR Silly Season seems to happen earlier every year and just like last season with Martin Truex Jr. announcing his retirement from Joe Gibbs Racing at the end of 2024, another Cup Series driver will have a new home when the Cup Series crowns its 2025 champion. Despite rumors floating around the garage that he was in talks of a new contract, Daniel Suarez will run his last race for Trackhouse Racing at Phoenix Raceway in November.

On Tuesday, Suarez announced his departure at the end of the 2025 campaign from the three-car organization, the team where he scored the first two victories of his NASCAR Cup Series career.

“Trackhouse and I have mutually agreed to part ways at the end of the 2025 season,” Suarez said. "I’ve had some of the best years of my Cup Series career at Trackhouse. We had some great successes as a team and I gained some incredible friends. We took a team nobody had even heard of in 2021 and in just a couple of years we were winning races and running upfront on a weekly basis.

“Just like the seasons in a year, sometimes things change and we have agreed to each go in our own direction. I wish Trackhouse nothing but the best, this 99 team will always be special to me. And like I always say, the best is ahead.”

Suarez was pushed into the Cup Series immediately after winning his first NASCAR Xfinity Series championship in 2016, filling the vacated No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Cup Series car from a retiring Carl Edwards. Amid struggles to perform at JGR, Suarez carved out a home with Trackhouse Racing and team owner Justin Marks the last few seasons.

For now, Suarez and his No. 99 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet team look to score their first win of the 2025 season at the Chicago Street Course Sunday, July 6. Race coverage begins at 2 p.m. ET on TNT.
