Denny Hamlin calls out legendary NASCAR crew chief for remarks about antitrust lawsuit

With the settlement in the antitrust case between 23XI Racing, Front Row Motorsports and NASCAR in the rearview mirror, NASCAR Cup Series driver and 23XI co-owner Denny Hamlin took to social media on Tuesday to call out SiriusXM NASCAR Radio host and former NASCAR crew chief Larry McReynolds.

When 23XI and FRM initially sued NASCAR and the France family in October 2024, McReynolds called out 23XI for initiating litigation.

McReynolds is a legendary crew chief who was been a part of Fox's NASCAR coverage since 2001 and is a co-host on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

"We've got an organization (23XI Racing) that's been here not even four years that all of a sudden is saying 'we gotta change the way NASCAR's run'," McReynolds said on Oct. 2, 2024, shortly after the lawsuit was filed.

Hamlin clearly remembered McReynolds' remark.

"Good morning," Hamlin said in a reply on social media to McReynolds on Tuesday. "Now that the case is settled and the evidence is out will you or anyone on channel 90 be issuing an apology for what you all said about 23XI/FRM when the lawsuit was filed?"

McReynolds has yet to respond to Hamlin's comment.

Regardless of whether or not SiriusXM or McReynolds walks back their comments, it's safe to say that Hamlin and 23XI came out of the lawsuit smelling like a rose. The settlement and permanent charters that came out of the case were both a win for Hamlin, who can return his focus towards a quest for a championship as a driver in 2026 and the continued improvement of 23XI.
