After some heated moments on the race track at the Coca-Cola 600, pit crew members for Chris Buescher and Denny Hamlin got together to hash things out over how the two teams would pit.

Hamlin had grown frustrated with how Buescher was pitting, leaving him in a very unfavorable position.

Buescher’s pit box is right in front off Hamlin’s for this race, and Buescher was pitting toward the back of his box. That was forcing Hamlin to have to back up to exit his pit box, costing him valuable time in the race.

Hamlin got into it on his team’s radio as a result. The NASCAR driver wanted his crew chief, Chris Gabehart to go over to Buescher’s pit and demand they handle things differently.

Gabehart grew exasperated on the radio.

“Brother, if I do anything more than I’ve already done, we’re going to FIGHT!” Gabehart said. “Do you understand? I’ve done all I can do!”

Hamlin didn’t take too kindly to that, responding in kind.

“That’s what I’m going to do next time,” Denny Hamlin said. “Do you hear me 17? Park in your Goddamn box! I will stomp on your bumper!”

Buescher’s crew did end up altering how he came into the pit box, and the ensuing conversation between Buescher’s pit crew and Hamlin’s during a caution for rain seemed perfectly civil. Check it out below.

That adjustment could help Hamlin make up time in a race that could be tight in the final stages. The race was halted for rain midway through the third stage, but crews were out on the track drying it as the lightning delay timer neared an end.

NASCAR, of course, will be hoping to complete the race tonight.

Denny Hamlin is currently running in fifth place in the race, trailing Christopher Bell, Brad Keselowski, William Byron and Tyler Reddick.
