Denny Hamlin spun out during the In-Season Challenge at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday night, leading to a huge wreck.

Hamlin went sideways entering Turn 3 on Lap 70 of the Cup Series event in Atlanta. The driver of the No. 11 Toyota Camry XSE for Joe Gibbs Racing got spun and came across the track, blocking off the path for nearly half the field. Multiple cars were involved in the crash, which resulted in the caution flag coming out.

In addition to Hamlin, William Byron, Corey LaJoie, Austin Cindric, Joey Logano, Chase Briscoe, Daniel Suarez, Ross Chastain and Josh Berry were all taken out by the wreck.

Prior to the wreck involving Hamlin, Christopher Bell and Ryan Blaney were involved in a wreck near the end of Stage 1.

This is the first year that NASCAR has had an In-Season Challenge, and this race represented Challenge Round 1. Hamlin was a driving force behind the In-Season Challenge, and ironically got knocked out with the wreck.
