Denny Hamlin Just Kicked Ass

DOVER, Del. — Denny Hamlin put on a clinic Sunday night at Dover Motor Speedway, bullying the field and reminding the NASCAR garage that when he gets clean air, the race is usually over.

Hamlin flat-out kicked everyone’s ass in the NASCAR All-Star Race, leading the majority of the event and never letting the competition breathe once he grabbed control. The Joe Gibbs Racing veteran sliced through traffic with ease, nailed restarts and looked untouchable on long runs as the concrete mile turned into his personal playground.

It was vintage Hamlin — aggressive, smooth and completely in command.

The rest of the field spent most of the night chasing him rather than racing him. Every time a challenger showed a hint of speed, Hamlin answered immediately. His car fired off well, held pace over a run and never showed weakness in traffic.

For a driver who has heard nonstop questions about age, consistency and playoff pressure, Sunday served as another reminder that Hamlin remains one of the toughest drivers in the garage to beat when everything clicks.

And at Dover, everything clicked.

The win added another statement moment to Hamlin’s 2026 season and reinforced what the field already knows: counting him out is usually a mistake.
