Hamlin, who signed a two-year contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing on Friday, topped the speed charts in Saturday's Cup Series practice session that was pushed back a day due to rain on Friday.

John Hunter Nemechek, 2018 Brickyard 400 winner Brad Keselowski, Ty Gibbs and Zane Smith rounded out the top-five, with Austin Dillon, Kyle Larson, Erik Jones, Carson Hocevar and Austin Cindric completing the top-10.

Other notable practice results include Bubba Wallace in 14th, 2020 Cup Series champion Chase Elliott in 15th, Daytona 500 winner William Byron in 21st, defending Cup Series champion Joey Logano in 22nd and Tyler Reddick in 25th.

Ty Dillon, who will compete with Gibbs for $1 million in the final round of NASCAR's In-Season Challenge, was 33rd-fastest in the session.

Josh Bilicki was the slowest car of the session, turning a fastest lap of 54.658 seconds around the 2.5-mile track.

Qualifying is next on truTV. The Brickyard 400 will go green shortly after 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, with coverage on TNT, the IMS Radio Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
