Former "SportsCenter" anchor Sage Steele is going viral this week for a wholesome reason.
Steele joined ESPN in 2007 and quickly became a notable figure on "SportsCenter." In October 2021, she was suspended for a comment she made about the network's vaccine mandates during the pandemic. Less than two years later, she left ESPN after settling a lawsuit.
"Having successfully settled my case with ESPN/Disney, I have decided to leave so I can exercise my first amendment rights more freely," Steele said in August 2023. "I am grateful for so many wonderful experiences over the past 16 years and am excited for my next chapter!"
Steele has remained in the public eye since her departure from ESPN. In fact, she had exciting news to share with her social media followers on Thursday.
Steele, 52, revealed on Instagram that she's officially engaged.
"Sometimes it takes a while to find your person," Steele wrote. "Maybe even decades. But when you know, YOU KNOW. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t change a thing about my journey. It was worth the wait. Dave, I am so excited & beyond grateful to be doing life with you."
Steele's peers had nothing but kind things to say about her engagement.
"Oh my gooood! So exciting! So happy for you guys," former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick said.
"I’m so so happy for you, my beautiful sweet friend," Tulsi Gabbard commented. "You deserve all the love and more."
"You both look overjoyed! Congrats," Michele Tafoya wrote.
Suffice to say, Steele is feeling the love this week.
Steele might spend a decent portion of her summer planning a wedding. For now though, she's celebrating the next step in her relationship.
Congratulations to Steele on her engagement.
