Following Joey Logano's overtime win at Texas, four active Cup Series champions remain winless after the 2025 season's first 11 races, which have produced seven different winners.
All four of them have areas they need to clean up to get back to victory lane, much like Logano, who had no top fives before his Texas triumph.
Here are the four active Cup Series champions without a win so far:
Chase Elliott, Hendrick Motorsports No. 9 Chevrolet
The 2020 champion has been consistent to start the 2025 season, just not consistently toward the front. As the only driver in the series to finish inside the top 20 in all 11 races, Elliott currently sits fourth in the standings despite only leading 45 combined laps.
Two areas that have plagued the No. 9 team this season have been stage points and qualifying. Only Christopher Bell (48) has fewer stage points than Elliott (56) of any driver inside the top 10 in points.
Of the 11 races that have been run, Elliott has started 15th or worse eight times, including the last four races. If the qualifying can improve, the stage points should follow, which is exactly what Elliott could use to get back on track.
Ryan Blaney, Team Penske No. 12 Ford
Unlike Elliott, the 2023 champion has had plenty speed with 199 laps led and a pair of stage wins. His 95 stage points are fourth-most in the series, only behind Bubba Wallace (100), William Byron (107) and Kyle Larson (108).
Four DNFs that have produced finishes of 28th or worse have prevented Blaney from establishing any momentum and taking advantage of the speed in his No. 12 Ford.
Some better results in qualifying could certainly help with four starts outside the top 20. Blaney's pace is arguably as good as anyone in the field, but the finishes need to match the speed if he is going to contend for wins.
Kyle Busch, Richard Childress Racing No. 8 Chevrolet
Aside from a season-high 42 laps led at COTA on March 2, the two-time Cup Series champion has had a season full of mistakes up to this point. Since the Las Vegas race on March 16, Busch has finished outside the top 10 in six of the seven races. He is 16th in the overall standings with only 17 stage points.
A lot of the mistakes fall on the pit crew. While Busch spun from third by himself at Texas, his pit crew ranked 20th of the 38 cars in the field. That has been an issue all season and must be cleaned up if Busch is going to get back to victory lane for the first time since 2023.
Brad Keselowski, Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing No. 6 Ford
With no top 10s and a miserable average finish of 26.2, the 2012 champion is off to the worst start in any season of his Cup Series career. Having only started inside the top 10 once through 11 races, Keselowski has rarely had track position and has experienced four DNFs, including back-to-back at Talladega and Texas.
Considering Chris Buescher (12th) and Ryan Preece (18th) have the other two RFK cars inside the top 20 in points, Keselowski's struggles are mind boggling and they don't seem to be going away anytime soon.
Unless he starts putting results together quickly, Keselowski is likely facing a must-win scenario to make the playoffs, which seems extremely unlikely at this point barring a huge turnaround.
