A big wreck in the final stage of the Truck Series race at Pocono has changed things late. Grant Enfinger and Ben Rhodes got it started. The two NASCAR drivers were on the wrong side of a three-wide situation. Enfinger slid up the track, Rhodes was there on his rear, and both ended up going around.

This race had been relatively calm today. That is, until this moment with 33 laps to go. Conner Jones, Tyler Ankrum, Clayton Green, and others were involved in the wreck before it was all said and done. Dawson Sutton took damage.

These races can change quickly. Will this caution create more cautions in the last 30 laps of the race? A tough day for Grant Enfinger is only going to be tougher.

This wreck has set off a wild chain of events. Jake Garcia wrecked on the ensuing restart after this incident. Then, while leading the race, Corey Heim got a flat right rear. As the race restarted, Carson Hocevar moved up a row, as he should have after Heim went to pit road just before the restart.

However, Hocevar assumed he was the control truck. He was not. The Spire driver took off in the restart zone first and earned himself a black flag. Now, Layne Riggs, the pole sitter, has taken the lead and turned the fastest lap of the race.

We saw Heim dominated once again. Now, he’s going to be wondering what went wrong and what he’s done to earn all of these close calls and mistakes late in races. Another race slips away from the 11 team after leading an overwhelming number of laps prior to the flat.

Grant Enfinger wreck triggers series of unfortuante events

You know they say cautions create cautions, and the Truck Series is probably the best example of that. The restarts are aggressive and physical, and late in the race on older tires, and thinner patience, these drivers get sideways and start wrecking.

One moment between Grant Enfinger and Ben Rhodes triggers multiple incidents. The race has completely turned on its head. This might even open the door for a Tanner Gray or Kaden Honeycutt to win their first career Truck Series race.

Corey Heim led 48 laps today. He was the best driver and for most of the race had the best truck. The next moment, he has a flat tire and has to pit late. We also know that Heim and Riggs don’t see eye-to-eye. So, if Riggs holds on to the lead and walks away a winner, this might be an extra bitter result for the Tricon driver.
