Hailie Deegan vows revenge on 2023 rival

Hailie Deegan and Dean Thompson have a history. The two NASCAR Truck Series drivers have had multiple run-ins this season. They added the latest chapter at Kansas.

With less than 10 laps remaining in the second stage, the ThorSport Racing driver was battling against the No. 5 car for 14th position when her spotter warned about the approaching Tricon Garage driver.

"Coming back inside of you. He's going to try and drag you back as well," her spotter said. "Get him back. Still even. Drag him back a little bit. You're going to get him around exit. Outside. Alright. Come on, Dean."

"I'm junking the mother f*****," Deegan angrily responded, vowing revenge.

"Sent us up the track a little bit," the spotter described over the radio.

"You got to follow him in the corner and loosen him up and drive underneath him," crew chief Rich Lushes advised.

"Alright. Come on. Let's go get him back for that," the spotter encouraged.

It never happened. The two went opposite directions the rest of the race, with the Tricon driver finishing 15th and Deegan 30th after getting penalized for speeding on pit road.

Truck Series fans paying attention realize this incident is just the latest chapter between the two 22-year-olds from California. In May, late in the race at North Wilkesboro, Deegan spun Thompson, which sent the No. 5 truck into the wall for a hard impact that ended his day.

A couple of months later, it happened again at Richmond when the pair made contact and the Tricon truck went for another spin. After the race, Thompson had a heated conversation with Deegan.

The tables were turned at Kansas, and the ThorSport truck was on the receiving end.

Four races remain on the 2023 Truck calendar and based on this season's history alone, there's a good chance the two drivers will be racing around each other again. It's now just a matter of who makes the first contact.
