What a great qualifying session in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Jesse Love secured the Iowa Speedway pole award today over big names. Carson Hocevar, Ross Chastain, and Austin Dillon are all in this race today. On top of that, Connor Zilisch is on a three-race win streak.
It looked like, for a moment, that Zilisch was going to steal the pole from Love. However, the 88 car couldn’t get it done in Turns 3 and 4.
William Sawalich was so close to grabbing another pole award today. He will start P2. He comes in with three straight top-10s after suffering seven DNFs. Jesse Love will have control when the race goes green later today at Iowa Speedway.
This race is going to be very fun to watch. Love, Hocevar, Zilisch, Mayer, and Dillon are all going to be throwing haymakers to get the win this weekend. Then you have Chastain in that JRM No. 9 car. We might get an instant classic today, folks.
No cars went home today. Jeb Burton is going to have one hell of a time coming from the back after his car was all over the place. Full starting lineup below:

Jesse Love had a great lap to take the pole from William Sawalich. To his credit, Sawalich snatched it from Carson Hocevar just before Love upset him to take the top of the board.
Richard Childress Racing wants to make some noise this week. Austin Hill is serving a one-race suspension for his actions on track last week at Indianapolis when he right-rear hooked Aric Almirola.
Austin Dillon is subbing for Hill. Could we see a big day from RCR with Love and their super sub, Dillon?
When it comes to young NASCAR talent, Jesse Love and Connor Zilisch represent the future of Chevrolet and of the sport in general. It also helps that the two are very good friends and are never afraid to poke fun at each other on camera.
While it has been all about Zilisch for about the last month, Love finally got one over on his buddy. Love has been really consistent, only three finishes worse than P9 since his DQ at Rockingham. But he hasn’t been able to capitalize on that speed as far as wins are concerned.
Iowa Speedway is a fun place for Love and Zilisch to have their next on-track battle. But with the Cup Series trio in this race, these two won’t be alone. You can’t count out Sam Mayer, Sammy Smith, or Justin Allgaier, either.
