Last night was a big one for Josh Berry. Then, it ended in disappointment. He seemingly won the Battle of Broadway 150 before post-race inspection. The NASCAR Cup Series star’s Pro Late Model was found to have been outside of the allowances for left side weight percentage.

This year has been a good one for Josh Berry. He won at Las Vegas earlier this year, and the Wood Brothers appear to be clicking with him behind the wheel.

Last night, Berry was the lone Cup driver in the Battle of Broadway at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. He won the race after shooting to the front. Perhaps his car was too good. After the race, his No. 21 car was found to be outside of the left-side weight percentages. So, Trey Craig wins the event for the second year in a row.

Josh Berry is a Tennessee guy. He loves racing in Nashville and especially at the Fairgrounds. His Ford Pro Late Model was just not up to snuff in post-race inspection.

Hopefully, Berry is able to avoid similar issues this weekend on the NASCAR side of things. Berry had great speed at Kansas. He fought his car last week at Charlotte to a P12 finish. With how well he did at Vegas, these intermediate tracks might be his bread and butter.

Josh Berry looking for fourth top-10 of the season

This season, Josh Berry has been at his best at Phoenix, Las Vegas, Bristol, Kansas, and Charlotte. The P6 finish at Kansas was his last top-10 of the season. Nashville gives him an opportunity to flex his muscles again.

Last year with Stewart-Haas Racing, Berry was running in the top-10 and near the top-five during the race. However, as the laps ticked down, he had issues with his car and started to fall back. By the end of the fifth overtime, Berry was wrecked and out of the race.

This year, everyone is hoping that the race can end after 400 miles. Let’s not get into overtime and start wrecking every car on the track. Berry would have had a much better finish if that were the case.

Josh Berry started his weekend in Nashville with a big win, then it was taken away. Will he have better luck in the Cup Series as he races in front of his home crowd? The Volunteer State is going to be behind Berry the whole way.
