Mother Nature gave Justin Allgaier a gift on Saturday morning.
After a delay, NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying finally got underway — until the skies over Daytona International Speedway opened up, ending the qualifying session after only a handful of cars were able to turn laps.
By way of the rulebook, 2024 Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier earned the pole position for Saturday's race. Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year contender Taylor Gray will join Allgaier on the front row.
Christian Eckes, Austin Hill, William Sawalich, Sheldon Creed, Brandon Jones, Sam Mayer, Jesse Love and Carson Kvapil make up the rest of the top 10. Other notable drivers and their starting positions include Justin Bonsignore in 15th, Connor Zilisch in 20th, Jeremy Clements in 25th, Matt DiBenedetto in 30th and Harrison Burton in 32nd.
Carson Ware, CJ McLaughlin and JJ Yeley — who also failed to qualify for Sunday's Daytona 500 — missed the race due to the cancellation of qualifying.
The Xfinity Series season opener at Daytona will go green shortly after 5 p.m. ET, with coverage on the CW, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Hill has won the last three Xfinity Series season openers at Daytona, while Ryan Truex won the last time the Xfinity Series raced at Daytona in August of 2024.
