Katherine Legge had the best weekend of her young stock-car racing career in Chicago.
Just making the field for Sunday's Grant Park 165 was a huge accomplishment for Legge, who drove an underfunded Live Fast Motorsports Chevrolet this weekend and beat one of NASCAR's top prospects in Corey Heim in qualifying just to make the show.
But Legge didn't stop at just qualifying for the race. The 44-year-old from Guilford, England, put together a solid race that ended with her accomplishing something NASCAR hasn't seen in nearly eight years.
With a 19th-place finish in Sunday's race, Legge is the first female NASCAR Cup Series driver to score a top-20 results since Danica Patrick finished 17th in the 2017 AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway in November 2017.

When Legge made her Cup Series debut at Phoenix Raceway on March 9, she was the first female driver since Patrick in the 2018 Daytona 500 to make a start in Cup Series competition.
While her Cup Series debut at Phoenix wasn't the prettiest — Legge DNF'd and finished 30th after being spinning twice — Legge did finish the race in Mexico City on June 15 and procured her best Cup Series result to date on Sunday.
Her NASCAR career is still young, but Legge is heading in the right direction.
