Since it was announced in June that RAM will be returning to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2026, rumors have swirled regarding which teams could make a manufacturer switch.
One team in that mix could be Kaulig Racing, which fields entries in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Cup Series.
In theory, starting a new Truck Series team and leading off with a new manufacturer may not be a bad plan, and it sounds like Kaulig could be considering it.
On Thursday, Kaulig Racing president Chris Rice appeared on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and discussed a potential move to Dodge or RAM in the future.
"You asked about the truck deal; I think it's still up in the air," Rice said. "I think it's a couple teams that's in the mix. I'll tell you this: If we (Kaulig) get it, I'll be able to tell you guys and we'll be smiling about it."
"I still think it's up in the air [...] I think it's always a possibility."@KauligRacing President @C_Rice1 comments on the potential of the organization partnering with @RamTrucks in the future and wanting to go trophy hunting again.

"I think it's always a possibility. ... He (team owner Matt Kaulig) told me Sunday flying home, he is ready to win again. When he (Kaulig) says that, he means it. He wants to home. We have to figure out how to win, now matter how that is. Matt Kaulig wants to win again; it's time to go win again. If that means getting into a bunch of different series, that's what that means."
Kaulig Racing is winless in both the Cup and Xfinity Series so far this season and could see all five of its entries — two in Cup, three in Xfinity — miss their respective postseasons. If that comes to fruition, starting a Truck Series program could be the shot in the arm the organization needs to get back to Victory Lane.
