Kevin Harvick claims Kyle Busch is 'frustrated' over RCR’s failure to capitalize on Talladega
Stephanie Amador / USA TODAY NETWORK

The 2024 NASCAR Cup Season so far has been a nightmare for RCR and their star driver Kyle Busch. Other than the P3 finish in the second race of the season at Atlanta, the No:8 team hasn’t scored s ingle top-5 finish and have only secured just three top-10s. He has finished P20 or worse in half of the races this year.

It’s a massive drop in performance, considering Kyle Busch was two times Cup race winner last season after first ten races. While talking about the drop in form and the disappointing P26 finish last week at Talladega, ex-Cup champion Kevin Harvick admitted that his former rival is super frustrated over the results.

I think that the wheels have fallen off of the 8 car. He was frustrated again after the race this week. Just talking to him this week, he was really, he knew they needed to try to capitalize at Talladega because he hadn’t felt very good about where they were. Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.

If the veteran fails to win a race in the upcoming week at Dover Monster Mile, it would first season wince 2020, where he would fail to score a win before the first 11 races of the season. It’s not just Busch who is failing, his teammate Austin Dillon is going through rougher patches as well.

Kevin Harvick highlights Kyle Busch’s drop in form compared to start of the season

Harvick pointed out that in the first two races of the season Bush was strong contender for the victory and if not for execution errors, he would’ve won it. He added that once the pit-crew problems started, the teams have been in a downward spiral.

I think the first few weeks of the season I really looked at Kyle and I’m like, ‘Man they could have won, they could have won any of those races if things had gone well.’ Then all of a sudden the pit crew problems started and things have just completely unraveled. Kevin Harvick said.

Kyle Busch’s poor form in such an iconic team like RCR is a big disappointment for the whole NASCAR garage. The driver and his crew has to step up their game, erase their mistakes during race weeks in order to win races and be championship contenders.
