This weekend is Bristol and the NASCAR Cup Series returns to the concrete, and Kevin Harvick already has his favorite for the Food City 500. 500 laps around the high banks of The Last Great Colosseum to determine the next winner in the Cup Series.

Kevin Harvick can sit back and relax for the most part this NASCAR season. From the Fox booth, he is calling races, but not being behind the wheel lets him see it a little differently now.

On the new episode of his Happy Hour podcast, Harvick talked, as he usually does, about his favorites for the upcoming weekend.

“I’m just going to go with the old boring pick, I think I’m going to go with the guy that won there last time that I think had a shot to win it this week [at Phoenix] in Denny Hamlin,” Harvick said. “I think he’s got that dog in him still.

“So, I think if Denny Hamlin doesn’t win … I think one of the RFK cars will hopefully be up front. I think they both ran really well there last year, I think the 17 and the 6, Brad had some trouble and ended up in the backstretch wall, but I think both of those cars will run good as well.”

Running with Denny Hamlin again this week, Kevin Harvick hopes the JGR driver gets it going. Hamlin has had a bit of an issue finishing races. This Sunday, he will try and run a complete race and come out on top at Bristol just as he did in the fall.

Kevin Harvick is worried about Team Penske driver

Going into this weekend there are a few drivers who could use a solid day. The high banks of Bristol are unpredictable and provide drivers with non-stop action as they drive in close quarters for all 500 laps of the race.

Kevin Harvick has been watching this season and he knows who has struggled and who is doing well to start the year. Looking at the first four weeks of the season, Harvick has his eyes on one driver, and not for good reasons.

Joey Logano has two DNFs and three finishes of P28 or worse this season. Bad luck, poor decisions, and more have plagued Logano to begin the year. He had one good race at Las Vegas. However, that wasn’t a great race as he finished P9.

That has Kevin Harvick concerned.

“I’m most concerned about the No. 22, Joey Logano,” Harvick stated. “That’s that’s my biggest concern right now. Because they were good at Daytona. Controlled the race. But man, giving yourself just an opportunity to win at Talladega and Daytona, that’s really the only two super — those are the only two super speedways we have left before the playoffs. I mean, is that really their only chance to win at this point? I don’t know.”

Should Kevin Harvick be worried about Logano? It does feel like things have fallen off the rails, and Logano himself admitted he’s had a rough start to the year, perhaps the worst start of his career.
