After an incredible career, Kevin Harvick retired from full-time NASCAR Cup Series racing after the 2023 season, joining FOX Sports for the 2024 campaign. After this past weekend’s All-Star Race, FOX handed the baton off to Amazon Prime Video, and that meant the end of the 49-year old’s second season in the booth.

While FOX’s coverage has been a point of contention for many NASCAR fans, Harvick’s addition has been near universally praised. He’s been a valuable part of a booth that also features legendary play-by-play man Mike Joy, and fellow former wheelman Clint Bowyer.

Earlier this season, Harvick opened up about what the dynamics of the trio were like. It’s evidently a recipe that works for FOX, and the Bakersfield, California native has enjoyed his time with the network thus far.

“They were both open arms when I got here. They had a rotating seat of (guest analysts), so I can see why that would be frustrating with the flow and being in the routine of how things go. To bring somebody new in most every week would be hard, not only for them, but for the guys in the (production) truck to be able to get the flow and understand when somebody is frustrated or mad,” Harvick stated, via an interview with Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic.

“Clint and I look at it from two different worlds. What we see on the racetrack is drastically different. Mike’s a little bit of the referee in that scenario. But I think that’s part of what makes it good because I don’t get offended by his difference in his perspective compared to my perspective. Mine’s usually right. But other than that, it’s fun because I can bust on him pretty hard, and he can do the same back to me. And it’s not mean. We’re both just having fun.”

Alas, the trio works, and it’s been a revelation after FOX had a rotating door for guests prior to the former Cup Series champion joining the fold. In addition to his work in the booth, Harvick also hosts the Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour podcast, which also features Kaitlyn Vincie and Mamba Smith, and has been a valuable addition to NASCAR coverage throughout the week.

All told, it seems like Kevin Harvick always finds a way to excel at whatever he does in racing, and that includes broadcasting. His time at FOX has been awesome over the past two seasons, and we can’t wait to get him back in the booth for the 2026 Daytona 500.
