On lap 87 of Saturday's United Rentals 300 at Daytona, a rather bizarre incident occurred during a round of green flag pit stops.
Josh Bilicki entered pit road with a large group of cars, but was hit hard by Kris Wight as he attempted to make his way to his pit stall. Upon review, Wright attempted to come onto pit road far too quickly, and was nowhere near the 55-mph pit road speed limit.
The crash damaged both vehicles, with Wright being forced to retire. Bilicki was able to continue and finished in 14th.

CW color analysts Parker Kligerman and Jamie McMurray speculated that the brakes on Wright's No. 5 had failed, but Wright's interview told a different story.
"Just super bad miscommunication with (my) spotter," Wright told CW Sports. "Just the way the things stacked up. (I) feel really bad for all the guys on track, our guys. It won't happen again, just miscommunication."
"We had a braking issue on pit road the stop before, and we were planning on getting on the brakes a little bit sooner out of (turn) four coming to pit road. Just unfortunate the way it happened."
Wright's pit road mishap was the second bizarre crash to occur on Saturday. On the cool-down lap following the 200-mile ARCA Menards Series race, Helio Castroneves was hooked into the turn one wall by A.J. Moyer, who chalked the incident up to a loss of radio communication with his spotter.
