Kurt Busch to serve as Grand Marshal for Pocono NASCAR Cup Series race

A great honor for Kurt Busch this weekend in Pocono. He will serve as the Grand Marshal for the NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday. Busch will go into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2026. Until then, he’s going to be on a bit of a tour throughout the racing world.

NASCAR does a great job of getting the Hall of Fame inductees involved leading up to the ceremony. There is a long way to go between now and next year. However, Kurt Busch is going to be making appearances and doing fun things like getting the engines started at Pocono.

You know that Busch is ready to get the party started. Monster Energy is hosting a Beast Unleashed block party in the infield. It should be a ton of fun for the fans in the Poconos this weekend.

Of course, Kurt Busch has had happy memories at the Tricky Triangle. He won three races at the track during his career.

Despite certain personal issues, such as his DWI last year, Kurt Busch continues to show up in the NASCAR world. He isn’t shying away from the sport in his retirement. That is a good thing. Busch and his fans were somewhat robbed of his last two or three years in the Cup Series after his 2022 injury. Keep him around as long as he wants to show up at the track.

Still with close ties to 23XI Racing, Busch is a fun figure in the sport. He was a bit of a hot head and a wildcard in his early years. Now, he’s more about having fun and enjoying the moment.

Kurt Busch ended his career at Pocono Raceway

While there are many good memories for Kurt Busch at Pocono Raceway, there is one very sad memory. Busch ended his career at the Tricky Triangle when he wrecked during qualifying in 2022. That hit with the back of his car into the outside wall ultimately put him out of the sport.

The Next Gen car just wasn’t built well enough to handle those hits in 2022. There were major changes made to the car and the front and rear clips. This has allowed impacts to not be as intense, especially with the backend of the vehicle.

I’m sure there will be plenty of emotions for Busch this weekend. His fans will be in the stands cheering for him as he gives the command for the Cup Series field on Sunday.

Back at the Tricky Triangle, Kurt Busch will be front and center before the race. Could his presence give the 23XI Racing camp a big of an extra pep in their step?
