Kyle and Kurt Busch honor their dad Tom on Father’s Day: ‘Three winning generations’

Happy Father’s Day to all you race fans out there who get to wear the title of “Dad.” Hopefully, you’re ready for racing! Earlier today, Kyle and Kurt Busch gave their respects to their father, Tom. The man who started it all.

Both Kurt and Kyle are in Mexico City this weekend. Of course, Kyle will be racing and representing the Busch family once again in the NASCAR Cup Series.

At this point, with Brexton Busch growing up and chasing his dad around on dirt tracks, the Busch racing dynasty has extended to three generations. I mean, Brexton has something no one else in his family has, a Golden Driller from the Tulsa Shootout.

Kyle Busch got things started with a great throwback pic and a more modern-day pic as well. Tom looks like he still knows a thing or two about race cars. Also, that Busch firesuit might be the coolest thing you see today.

Of course, Kurt couldn’t let little brother upstage him. He had his own pictures to share.

Tom Busch did a pretty great job raising his boys. After all, both rose to the top ranks of racing in the United States. Both Kyle and Kurt Busch are Cup Series champions. They are the winningest brothers in the history of the sport with 97 wins between the pair.

Kurt has dabbled in all kinds of racing. He competed in the Indy 500 and finished 6th during his own attempt at the Memorial Day Double. There are just too many accolades to go through between Kyle and Kurt.

Fiery personalities, fiery racing styles, and forever leaving a mark on the sport of NASCAR and motorsports at large in the United States. I’m sure Tom is a proud dad on Father’s Day today. From Las Vegas to Daytona to Mexico City and everywhere in between. His kids have done a lot of great things.

Kyle Busch looking for another Mexico City win

Now, it is no secret that Kyle Busch is desperate for a win. He hasn’t had one in over two years now, last finding Victory Lane at Gateway in June 2023. Rowdy has an Xfinity Series win at Mexico City and Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. Can he add a Cup Series win on this track?

Earlier this season, Busch had his best race at COTA. He led the most laps and finished P5 after losing his tires late in the final run. If the cautions fall differently, we may have been talking about Busch breaking that winless streak. Rowdy started P8 in that race, he starts P11 later today.

RCR has started to slowly give Busch a faster No. 8 Chevy. They have to put together the perfect race if they want to get that car on top of the podium today. Pit stops are going to be rare, but critical. These are tiny pit boxes. Getting in and out without speeding and without penalties will be so important.

Kyle Busch is an underrated road course racer in the Next Gen car. I think if he puts together a great race from start to finish, we could see him break through and lift the winner’s trophy over his head later tonight.
