Kyle Busch gives perfect answer to hypothetical Dale Earnhardt matchup at Bristol

During his career, Earnhardt won nine races at Bristol. He is tied for second all-time in wins at the track with Rusty Wallace and Cale Yarborough with nine victories. Meanwhile, Busch has third all to himself with eight. Of course, Darrell Waltrip is the King of Bristol with 12 career wins.

Given the wins between the two of them, a matchup between Rowdy and The Intimidator would be a clash of titans. When it comes down to it, Kyle Busch is right – neither one of them would get to the finish line and if they did, they’re likely doing it while wrecking and flipping.

Kyle Busch has had bad luck at Bristol recently

One thing about Kyle Busch and Bristol, it hasn’t been too kind to him in recent years. His last three finishes on the concrete at the track have been P20, P34, and P21. Not ideal for the eight-time winner at The Last Great Colosseum.

No more dirt on the Bristol track this March. It is back on the concrete and even equipped with the classic red and white walls around the track. The Food City 500 will be the next test for an RCR organization that has not had a great start to the 2024 season.

The frustrating thing is that Busch has had speed this year at times. Between his mistakes on pit road, his pit crew’s mistakes, and more – things have not gone according to plan. Of course, the two-time NASCAR champion isn’t panicking, at least yet.

What better time to turn things around than at one of Kyle Busch’s best tracks? His luck in recent years hasn’t been the best, but with his back against the wall a bit, Rowdy might not have any other option than to go out and put up a great showing on Sunday.
