Kyle Busch hoping to ‘sweep the weekend’ with win in Ambetter Health 400

This afternoon, Kyle Busch notched his 65th career win in the Craftsman Truck Series, extending his NASCAR record. As the winningest driver in the series, Busch put on a clinic for the young competitors in the field.

Drafting tracks require patience as much as they require speed. Atlanta Motor Speedway has given us great racing in the last couple of seasons. However, the aging track just keeps getting better and better.

Of course, Kyle Busch has another race on his schedule this weekend. He will try and notch his first win of the season in the Cup Series in tomorrow’s Ambetter Health 400.

Looking ahead to that race, Rowdy is excited to get his broom out and go for the sweep.

“Yo Rowdy Nation, what’s up, here we are in Victory Lane today, winning in the Truck Series race,” Busch said after the win. “Hey, at Atlanta, there’s been a lot of history here winning races at Atlanta from Billy Ballew days, all the way into KBM days, and now in the Spire days. So, thanks to everybody at Chevrolet, thanks to Rowdy Nation, appreciate everybody and all their support, this is awesome to get out here.

“Let’s go for two! Let’s get another one tomorrow, sweep the weekend! I’ve had a few brooms.”

Kyle Busch takes pride in how he races in all three NASCAR national series. When he is on the track, everyone knows that the level of competition has risen to elite.

Kyle Busch remains patient, takes the win in Atlanta

Throughout the race, Kyle Busch took his time. He was always right there with a shot at taking the lead. He didn’t lead every lap, but he did end up winning Stage 2. To close this one out, he was going to have to make a move sooner or later to take the lead from Grant Enfinger.

When it came down to the nitty-gritty, less than 10 laps to go, Enfinger took a little contact. Then, the No. 9 truck had a flat tire and had to drop to pit road. No caution, and Rowdy took the lead.

Once Kyle Busch had a hold of this race at the end, he wasn’t going to let it go. Ty Majeski tried to make a move high, but Busch shut the door and held onto the lead.

After last week’s chaos in Daytona, this was a welcomed race. It wasn’t filled with wrecks, we had great green flag runs, and it ended with the best driver and truck in Victory Lane. Good, old-fashioned NASCAR racing on Saturday afternoon.
