Kyle Busch releases his NCAA Tournament bracket

Just like everyone else this month, Kyle Busch is getting into the March Madness spirit. The NASCAR champion has his bracket all filled out. He’s got some interesting picks, but Rowdy knows a thing or two about winners.

Now, there are many different philosophies when it comes to picking your bracket. There are those who can never pick against their favorite team, no matter what seed they are or what matchup they face. Then there are those who focus on finding all of the underdog upsets.

Of course, you have others who put a lot of trust into the seeding, expecting the best teams to make it through to the end. Kyle Busch has a few surprises, but nothing out of left field.

For Rowdy, this year’s tournament is going to come down to UCONN and Houston, a battle of the No. 1 seeds from the East and South. Think you can beat him?

Now, I’m going to have to come in and say something – Kyle Busch turned his back on his home state. Busch doesn’t even have Nevada coming out of the first-round game against Daytona. I bet if UNLV was in this tournament, the Vegas driver would have picked them to make a deep run.

I’m sure his brother Kurt doesn’t appreciate him having Arizona lose to Baylor in the Sweet 16, either. Do you think you have a better bracket than Rowdy? Is he too chalky or does he have a good mix of lower and higher seeds?

Kyle Busch needs a big day on the track

Now, I’m sure just like the rest of us Kyle Busch would like to have a perfect bracket. However, the real focus for Busch is definitely on the race track. This week at COTA, he and his No. 8 team need a big race. They need a strong top-10 or top-5 day this Sunday.

Last season at COTA, Busch was P2 to Tyler Reddick. While road course racing has changed since Busch used to rack up wins on the curves and right turns, he is still a formidable road course racer. Most of the time, you can expect him to be right there in the top-5.

At COTA, Busch will have to be aggressive and hope he doesn’t find the same bad luck he’s had in recent weeks. Good news, the pit stops aren’t going to be as critical and it sounds like he will have the same crew as last week. If he does have the same crew from Bristol, it will be the only time this season he has had the same pit crew for two consecutive weeks this season.

Kyle Busch has a top-5 finish from Atlanta. Since then, he has finished P26, P22, and P25. The worst part, none of those finishes were DNFs. He has just been slow, had bad pit stops, and not been a factor this year. That has to change this week or sometime soon.
