CONCORD , N.C. — NASCAR legend Kyle Busch powered to victory in the Legends Masters feature race during the Summer Shootout Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, marking his fourth win in the series this summer, while son Brexton Busch showed promise for the future.
The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion showcased his versatility on the quarter-mile frontstretch track, with a competitive field that included notable drivers across multiple disciplines, like Bubba Wallace, Shane Van Gisbergen, Scott McLaughlin, and Keelan Harvick.
Busch, 40, has found a second home in the Legends Series, adding to his victories at Charlotte. His dominance in the series mirrors his storied career, where he holds 63 Cup Series wins and records for the most victories in both the Xfinity (102) and Truck Series (66).
His 10-year-old son, Brexton Busch, also continues to shine in the series. Brexton, who won the opening night of the 2025 Summer Shootout in the Bandolero division, has emerged as a rising star.
The Legends field featured NASCAR and IndyCar talent, with Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace, Trackhouse Racing’s Shane van Gisbergen, and IndyCar’s Scott McLaughlin competing in the Pro Legends division.
Keelan Harvick, son of NASCAR champion Kevin Harvick, also raced, bringing his recent Pro Late Model win at Kern Raceway to the mix. The star-studded lineup underscored the series’ appeal as a proving ground for both veterans and young drivers.
Busch’s midweek triumph follows a strong performance in the NASCAR Cup Series, where he rallied to a top-five finish at the Chicago Street Race on Sunday. Leading a race-high 42 laps earlier this season at COTA, Busch has shown prowess on road courses, and he aims to carry that momentum into the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway this weekend.
Currently 19th in the Cup Series playoff standings, Busch sits 46 points behind the cutline with seven races left, making Sonoma a critical opportunity to close the gap.
As Busch chases another Cup Series win, his success in the Legends Series and his son’s promising career highlight a family legacy thriving on and off the track.
