Kyle Larson is preparing for a second try at "The Double," one of the most difficult feats in auto racing.
For those unfamiliar, "The Double" consists of competing in the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the same day. The Indy 500 is the most prestigious IndyCar race, while the Coca-Cola 600 is the longest event on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule.
Five drivers have attempted "The Double" a combined 10 times, with John Andretti being the first in 1994. Tony Stewart, Robby Gordon and Kurt Busch have also given it a chance.
Larson was all set to complete "The Double" last year but after finishing 18th in the rain-delayed Indianapolis 500, the veteran driver was unable to complete a lap at the Coca-Cola 600 before rain wiped out the event.

Now, Larson is back and ready to finally finish off "The Double" on May 25.
The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion will drive the No. 17 Arrow McLaren Chevy at Indianapolis before getting behind the wheel of his No. 5 Chevy in Charlotte.
“They look great,” Larson said of his two vehicles. “The IndyCar, to me, I love it because I don’t think I’ve seen an IndyCar quite have this much detail to it before. So it looks sweet. And then obviously, the Cup car looks awesome as well. They look fast, and I’m sure they’ll be fast.”
Amazon Prime Video will be following Larson around as he tries to attach his name to history.
“Last year gave us a great foundation, and now we get to build on it,” Larson said. “I’m excited to come back stronger in 2025 and give it everything we’ve got to finish all 1,100 miles. Having Prime Video on board – especially with them streaming the 600 and documenting my whole experience – is pretty special. May is going to be a crazy month, and I’m ready to get after it.”
