With the AdventHealth 400 set for this Sunday, veteran driver Kyle Larson made it clear he's not pleased with the NASCAR Cup Series.
Larson is currently in the middle of another productive season with Hendrick Motorsports. He already owns victories at Bristol and Miami. The driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet has also recorded top-five finishes at Martinsville, Talladega and Texas.
Despite having a successful 2025 campaign, Larson made it clear he's not satisfied with the current product.
Speaking to the media this Saturday afternoon, Larson said the current product for the Cup Series is "stale." Obviously, that's not what NASCAR officials want to hear.
"We’re in need of a change," Larson told reporters Saturday.
Larson was then asked if this weekend's race at Kansas Speedway will feel like a "breath of fresh air" for the fans. His response was pretty interesting.
"Yeah, but then if it's a boring race, everybody is going to complain even more about the cars like 'Oh my God, Kansas has been so great in the past and they brought a new left-side tire and now the racing sucks. NASCAR, you're idiots, Goodyear, you suck.' We'll see how the race goes," Larson replied, via Jeff Gluck of The Athletic.
Larson has never been afraid to speak his mind. Just a few weeks ago he said he wants to embarrass the Xfinity Series.
"In Xfinity, I do get motivated, and this is going to come across like very cocky, but I want to embarrass them, honestly," Larson said. "I want to embarrass NASCAR a little bit because they just don’t let Cup guys run anymore, and the kids probably think they’re in a good spot and they don’t know where the bar really is at."
Larson's latest comments are a bit more serious considering they involve the Cup Series.
We'll see if NASCAR's top officials fire back at Larson.
