Layne Riggs wins NASCAR Truck Series race at Bristol, advances to second round of playoffs

Layne Riggs earned his third win of the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season and a ticket to the second round of the Truck Series playoffs on Thursday.

Riggs led the final 110 laps en route to victory at Bristol Motor Speedway on Thursday evening after Jake Garcia won Stage 1 and Corey Heim won Stage 2.

The victory is the fifth of Riggs' Truck Series career and his second consecutive in the Bristol fall race.

Riggs rebounded from a lap 1 spin, charging through the pack and eventually finding his way to the front.

"You don't get two mulligans in the playoffs," Riggs told Fox Sports. "We got two.

(This) shows that we're right there and we're in contention. I'm excited for New Hampshire. I've never even been there and I already love that racetrack."

Heim led the most laps (122) of any driver on the evening, but ultimately finished third.

Ben Rhodes, Heim, defending Truck Series champion Ty Majeski and 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Daniel Hemric rounded out the top-five, with Tanner Gray, Connor Mosack, Andres Perez, Corey LaJoie and Matt Crafton completed the top-10.

Other notable finishers include Kaden Honeycutt in 12th, Rajah Caruth in 15th, Tyler Ankrum in 20th, Grant Enfinger in 21st, spring Bristol winner Chandler Smith in 30th and Garcia in 33rd.

Going into the Round of 10 elimination race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sept. 20, Caruth holds the eighth and final transfer spot by 14 points over Garcia, pending post-race inspection.

The Truck Series will return to action at NHMS on Sept. 20. The EJP 175 will go green shortly after noon ET, with coverage on FS1, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
