Coming in ranked 32nd in the NASCAR Cup Series, the No. 71 team of Michael McDowell leaves 1st and with $100,000. This Hendrick Motorsports pit crew has been working on the Spire car of McDowell this year and it has paid off for them today.

12.587 seconds on the pit stop from entry to exit in the pit box. Just a fantastic stop and one that wins the team a big payday.

Christopher Bell’s No. 20 team won this event the last two seasons. This year, McDowell’s group hit the perfect stop and no one could best them.

This Pit Crew Challenge is always a lot of fun. You get to see the passion that these athletes have in the work that they do. It is truly a special event that shines light on the underappreciated members of the NASCAR community.

Michael McDowell has to be thrilled with the result. Then again, who is to say that we aren’t going to see Hendrick pull one or two of those crew members and put them on Kyle Larson or Chase Elliott’s pit crew? We have seen it happen with Justin Haley this season.

Spire Motorsports does lease pit crews from Hendrick. So, they know that they can lose an entire crew or a piece of a crew if the HMS teams aren’t up to snuff. There is a reason why 23XI Racing and Trackhouse Racing have been diligently training their own pit crews.

Michael McDowell pit crew wins, Keselowski on ASR pole

With his wicked fast qualifying time, three laps on the North Wilkesboro track, and a pit stop, Brad Keselowski is on pole for Sunday. The NASCAR All-Star Race will begin with Keselowski out front. This could turn his entire season around.

Brad Keselowski has not had a good season. At all. The struggles have been intense and have left this No. 6 team with no idea where to go. This could be the light in the tunnel that they needed.

Last year, Joey Logano jumpstarted his season, on his way to his third championship, by winning the All-Star Race. Does Wilkesboro have a little of that magic left for Keselowski?

Brad Keselowski will lead Heat Race #1 to green tomorrow. Then, regardless of his finishing position in the heat race, he will have the pole for Sunday’s main event. Keselowski didn’t even make it close for the rest of the field. He was way out front on time.

During his career, Keselowski has won a lot of races. He has been a champion. However, he has yet to win an All-Star Race. What if Sunday is the day he punches his ticket and cashes his $1,000,000 check?
