Next month, Kyle Larson will be attempting to ‘do the double,’ running in both the Indy 500 and the Coke 600 on the same day. Only a short list of NASCAR drivers have attempted this feat, including Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch.

With the buzz around Larson’s attempt at an all-time high, many have speculated on if we’ll see another NASCAR driver attempt the double anytime soon.

During his appearance on Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour podcast, Fox Sports announcer Mike Joy gave his choice for who he wants to see try the iconic IndyCar race next.

Christopher Bell,” he stated matter of factly. “He’s, wow. He will be a champion of this sport. I have no doubt.”

While Harvick agreed, Joy continued on to back up his statement. “I really wish he’d had the chance to run for [the championship] last year. Maritnsville got in the way and so did a couple blocking Chevrolets, we all know what happened then.

“The way he handled that and the way he made his point about whether things were fair or not without taking on NASCAR, I think really elevated his status in the garage and in the sport and I think now he’s someone that NASCAR respects and listens to and I think they’re ready for him to be a champion and he is.”

“When you look at the maturity of Christopher as a person, he’s developing to be a leader,” Harvick added.

While it may be a while before we see Bell in an IndyCar, fans can catch Kyle Larson attempt the double on May 25th.
