The NASCAR Cup Series is heading to Nashville this Sunday for the Cracker Barrel 400.
During last Sunday's Coca-Cola 600, it was Ross Chastain who made a late surge to pick up the win at Charlotte Motor Speedway. His celebration on Victory Lane was pretty epic. Not only did he take a trip to the stands to hang out with the fans, he smashed a watermelon from the top of his car.
"I won and no one can tell me what to do," Chastain said. "I will admit that we reached the two-hour mark a little bit ago since the finish, and they were barking at me in victory lane and I was a little more cordial earlier. They know, and I've told them in the past, when I win, I'm going to soak this in because of the times I didn't."
Will Chastain's momentum carry over to Nashville Superspeedway? It might, but FOX Sports analyst Kevin Harvick isn't picking him to win the Cracker Barrel 400.
On this week's episode of his "Happy Hour" podcast, Harvick said he's picking Denny Hamlin to win at Nashville.
Hamlin is currently sitting at 56 career Cup Series wins. A victory this Sunday would get him one step closer to the 60 wins club.
Earlier this week, Kyle Petty admit that he doesn't want Hamlin to reach 60 wins just yet. He'd much rather see younger drivers celebrate on Victory Lane.
"We see Tyler Reddick, we see these young drivers are hungry," Petty said, via On3. "It’s a changing time in this sport, and we are very blessed to be able to be here a see it. I love Denny Hamlin, I hope he gets to 60 (wins). But I’m telling you something, I hope Carson Hocevar gets his one or two before Denny gets to 60."
Suffice to say, Petty is hoping Harvick's prediction for Nashville doesn't age well.
