NASCAR Announcer Singles Out Team With Problems To Fix

NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick believes there's a team that may need to go back to the drawing board during the upcoming off week.

Speaking on his "Happy Hour" podcast, the FOX Sports commentator singled out one team in particular that really needs to take a look at how its approaching the start to the season.

"This off week presents a scenario to where I think a lot of teams need to make some adjustments," the former Cup Series champion said. "I think this pit road thing with [Joe Gibbs Racing] and [Hendrick Motorsports] being above the rest in the pit road speed. RFK [Racing] is right in there, too."

"When you look at [Team Penske] and their pit road stuff and some of the other teams and their pit road issues, you got to make an adjustment," he continued. "You can't just keep getting beat like a drum on pit road because pit road is just such a factor. We saw the five [Kyle Larson] execute a race from start to finish, leading the race, no issues."

JGR and Hendrick have come out of the gates strong and look like they're going to have at least one of their drivers competing for it all by year's end.

Afterwards, Harvick turned his attention to the budding rivalry between the aforementioned Larson and his friend Denny Hamlin — which played out Sunday in Bristol.

"I love it. I love to see somebody playing the other side of the fence," Harvick admitted. "Let the villain be the villain and let's antagonize — let's poke the villain. Kyle Larson is paying attention, and he also knows how to put on a show. He also knows how to play to the crowd."

"He's underrated in a lot of categories. He's not underrated as a driver, but he's underrated in a lot of categories off the racetrack," the NASCAR 75 honoree added. "Right now, Kyle Larson is the most popular driver on the circuit."

It's been a fun NASCAR Cup Series season thus far and there's no reason to believe it won't pick up right where it left off at April 27's Jack Links 500 at Talladega.
