For the first time ever, Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut, will host the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, The LiUNA 150. Here is everything you need to know for the inaugural Truck Series race.
It is time for the Craftsman Truck Series to go road course racing, but this time at a brand new facility. Lime Rock Park will host the Truck Series for the first time. The LiUNA 150 will be the last race for the series before a three-week break, but we are only three races out from the 2025 Truck Series Playoffs. Can Corey Heim grab the regular season championship, or will his inconsistencies bite him again?
The LiUNA 150 at Lime Rock Park is a 153-mile race around the 1.478-mile road course for 100 laps. 782,900 dollars are in the prize purse for this race. Goodyear is bringing the tires previously used at Circuit Of The Americas in the Xfinity Series this spring. It will be the first time they will race on these tires. Teams will have 5 sets for the race. Goodyear is also bringing the wet-weather tires in case of bad weather.
Lime Rock Park, located in Lakeville, Connecticut, opened in 1957 and has been a staple in American road racing ever since. The seven turns of the course give it a fast, flowing layout, which will be exciting for the Trucks to race on. It has hosted IMSA, SCCA, and Trans-Am throughout its history, with famous names like Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney, Paul Newman, and Mark Donohue having raced here.
Here are the playoff standings following the previous race at Pocono Raceway:
1. Corey Heim: 629
2. Chandler Smith: 505
3. Daniel Hemric 19 14 0 486
4. Layne Riggs 34 14 2 483
5. Grant Enfinger 9 14 -1 461
6. Kaden Honeycutt: 456
7. Tyler Ankrum: 441
8. Ty Majeski: 421
9. Jake Garcia: 411
10. Stewart Friesen: 381
Being the first road course race for the Truck Series, we have some drivers joining the field.
Corey Heim is going for a Truck Series record this weekend. If he wins the race, he will have three straight Truck Series victories on road courses, breaking the record set at 2. But he will have to have a perfect weekend, and he has not had one in a while. While I don’t count him out, just remember he has three finishes outside the top-15 in the last five.
The Front Row trucks have been good on road courses in the past. Todd Gilliland and Zane Smith won three in a row for Front Row at COTA from 2021 to 2023. Look out for the Nos. 34 and 38 to be fast this weekend.
Here is the weekend schedule for the LiUNA 150 at Lime Rock Park:
