Following last night's Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Superspeedway, several NASCAR fans declared that a certain Truck Series driver should retire.
Rajah Caruth defeated four-time winner Corey Heim and the rest of the field on Friday night to earn a trip to Victory Lane. His second career Truck Series win earned him a playoff berth for the 2025 season.
Some fans were hoping Frankie Muniz would sneak up on the field at Nashville, but that never happened. In fact, his night ended before it ever started.
Muniz, who is currently in his first season as a full-time Truck Series driver, had to call it a night because his oil line was knocked out of place. He didn't even get to complete a single lap in the Rackley Roofing 200.
As you'd imagine, Muniz was quite devastated over his misfortune.
"It's hard. It’s hard to keep our heads in it and stay motivated when like you, I don’t even get to race," Muniz said, via On3. "Like, I can’t even like, learn I can’t even, and it’s been a lot of that lately. Like us on our own island. Just out there running laps, you know, after an issue happens. That isn’t our fault. Yeah, I’m not trying to make excuses, it just, I can’t.
"You can’t make it up. At this point, you know, I forget that we still have half the season, so I’m trying to keep that in mind that, like, there’s still so much time to like, have some decent results and do some good racing, but I’m definitely, I can’t wait for the July break."
Muniz could certainly benefit from a break, especially since he just wrapped up filming the "Malcom in the Middle" revival.
That being said, a few NASCAR fans think he should seriously consider retiring from racing.
"Might be time to hang it up for Frankie Muniz," one fan suggested.
"Muniz is done," another fan said. "Time for him to retire."
"Man I feel for Frankie Muniz," a social media user said.
"I will say this no one can say anything about Frankie Muniz passion. He wants this more than anything. The dude has some of the worst equipment in the sport. Keep your head up dude," another user wrote.
Muniz, 39, probably won't give up racing after one season. Could he eventually part ways with Reaume Brothers Racing, though? That's a whole different story.
The Truck Series will resume on June 7 at Michigan International Speedway.
