Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

Dale Jr. has also confirmed that the deal ended at the end of last year, and since then, he has been in talks with the network and the other NASCAR partners over an extension but is yet to sign a contract.

My contract with NBC is up. It was up at the end of last year. I’m currently working through what that looks like for me. I definitely love being in the broadcast booth and want to continue doing that. We’ve had some great conversations with all of NASCAR’s TV partners. My home and my love is at NBC and I’d love to be back with them so we’ll see where it goes. But right now, I really don’t have a job in terms of broadcasting. Junior said, as reported by On3.com.

Dale Jr. is the most famous driver in the sport’s history and has the biggest fan base. NBC has made a lot of gains, having the former Daytona 500 winner as the poster boy for NASCAR coverage. With the 2024 season yet to start, the network should prioritize re-signing their star commentator, as finding a proper replacement for him would be a mega task.
