Don’t look now, but it’s Stage 3 in Sunday’s Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway and Joey Logano is out front. Logano took the lead after winning the race off pit road on Lap 188.
The three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion stole the win last year at Nashville and he might do it again this year. Jeff Gluck of The Athletic issued a “trigger warning” for any fans who have PTSD.
For anyone with Logano Nashville PTSD, a trigger warning: He is now P1 after those pit stops and will start Stage 3 as the leader.

If you recall, last year’s race at Nashville set a Cup record with five overtimes. Logano ran the final 110 laps without stopping for fuel, and his car quite literally stumbled across the start/finish line. That win saved Logano’s season.
Up to that point, he had struggled to find speed and looked to seriously be in danger of missing the playoffs. That win changed everything and by the end of the season, Logano was once again a champion. If Logano pulls this off, it will be his second win of the season.
He’s got plenty of competition, however. Team Penske teammate Ryan Blaney has been strong on the long run and has led the most laps. Denny Hamlin and William Byron have been up front throughout the race. Logano might not have the best car, but this is where he makes his money. In many ways, he’s NASCAR’s modern day closer and the ultimate opportunist.
