The NASCAR Cup Series is in full swing, and the best stock car drivers on the planet are making their way to tracks all around the country. They'll be tested at superspeedways like Daytona, road courses like COTA and traditional oval tracks like Homestead and Texas.
One driver who proved himself in the car has also done the same in the world of media. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has a distinguished record as a driver, and he's also got one of the most successful racing-related podcasts in the world in the "Dale Jr. Download."
Earnhardt has called Xfinity and Cup races in the past for NBC Sports, but the two-time Daytona 500 winner will head to a new discipline for his next race.
Earnhardt Jr. will join fellow NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick in the booth for the CARS Tour late-model race at North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina.
"I’m very proud about how much the series has grown and this is an incredible opportunity for our drivers and teams to showcase themselves. Kevin [Harvick] and I are going to have a lot of fun calling that race from the booth on Friday.”
The late model race is part of a weekend of All-Star festivities for NASCAR, which will be holding its own event on Sunday. The best drivers will go head-to-head with a massive prize awarded to the winner.
Earnhardt Jr. won the All-Star race - when it was still called The Winston, honoring the Cup Seres' former sponsor - back in 2000.
The 2025 NASCAR season has been filled with twists and turns through all of the race weekends so far, and an exciting conclusion is sure to follow. This weekend, the drivers will head to Darlington for the Cup and Xfinity Series.
The Truck Series will stay on short tracks after the trip to Martinsville last week, as they'll race from Richmond on Friday night.
Fans can tune in to hear commentary from two all-time greats in Earnhardt and Harvick on May 16. The CARS Late Model race from North Wilkesboro in North Carolina can be seen on FOX Sports 1.
