NASCAR Legend Kevin Harvick Rips Driver's Pit Crew

FOX's Kevin Harvick had a front row seat to Ryan Blaney's P5 finish in Sunday's Goodyear 400, but in his eyes it should've been a win.

After the No. 12 car's pit crew fumbled the restart following Kyle Larson's spin-out, the former NASCAR champion took to his "Happy Hour" podcast to admonish the wheelman's team — arguing that they might've cost him the checkered flag at Darlington.

"They were ranked 35th this week in the pit crew ranking. Here's the issue with that one, drivers talking about it after the race — Ryan Blaney mentioned that the pit crew needed to get better in his interview after the race, and he did it in the most delicate Ryan Blaney way possible. He did it like a pro. But it's a reality," Harvick explained. "You can't hide from these realities. You're going to have to make some changes."

"We've seen some other pit crew changes already happen this year in different instances. We've seen a lot of mistakes be made on pit road," he continued. "Pit crew just won the race with the No. 11 car. That pit crew just absolutely went out and won the race. So, if you don't think it's important, you're not going to put yourself to be in contention to consistently win."

"These guys are a massive part of the scenario to put your car in Victory Lane," Harvick concluded.

Blaney took home the Cup Series crown back in 2023 and he knows as well as anyone how important a good pit crew can be.

The No. 12 team will get its next chance to redeem itself at this weekend's Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway where they'll look to put last week's result behind them.
