The NASCAR Cup Series is heading to Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend for the Coca-Cola 600.
Last year's Coca-Cola 600 was shortened due to rain in Charlotte, but that wasn't a bad thing for Christopher Bell. He and the No. 20 team for Joe Gibbs Racing were rewarded the win after 249 laps.
"Man, it feels so good – to win or lose – just to have a great race to go off of," Bell said. "A race where we led laps. We were able to pass cars. We lost the lead at times and were able to drive back to the lead."
As of Wednesday, oddsmakers had Kyle Larson as the favorite to win this year's race in Charlotte. It'll be a busy Sunday for him considering he's set to participate in both the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600.
Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, William Byron and Tyler Reddick also have great odds to win this Sunday's race. Regardless of who ends up on top, all we can say for sure is that they'll receive a nice payday.
Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports reported that NASCAR's purse for the Coca-Cola 600 will be over $13.6 million. Just a year ago, the purse at Charlotte was roughly $9.8 million.
A nearly $4 million increase in prize money should give every Cup Series driver added motivation heading into the weekend.
The Coca-Cola 600 will be streamed exclusively on Prime Video. Coverage kicks off at 6 p.m. ET.
