Former NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney has done enough to keep himself towards the top of the standings, but he's still searching for his first win of the 2025 season.
Although it sounds too crazy to be true, Blaney is the only driver for Team Penske without a victory this year. That has to be incredibly frustrating for him considering he has four top-five finishes, including a third-place finish in this past weekend's race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Blaney had a great opportunity to win this past Sunday's race, but he was ultimately bested by Joey Logano down the stretch.
Despite picking up another positive result, Blaney made it clear that he's not pleased with himself. The man behind the No. 12 Ford for Team Penske ripped his own decisions during a recent interview.
"The one time I didn’t pick the outside (McDowell) got the lead and then I couldn’t get it back," Blaney said. "Just driver making dumb decisions and not doing his job. I appreciate the team. The 12 car was a fast car today. I just can’t do anything right currently. Hopefully it will work itself out."
Blaney probably doesn't want to hear any excuses right now, but it genuinely seems like he's just dealing with some bad luck. If he keeps competing at a high level, he'll eventually end up in the winner's circle.
For now though, Blaney is back at the drawing board figuring out what needs to change in order for him to be a winner once again.
Blaney will try to pick up his first win of the 2025 season this Sunday at Kansas Speedway.
