New angle, audio emerges of Chris Buescher, Tyler Reddick post-race altercation
Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

NASCAR released a video that shows the entire altercation between Chris Buescher and Tyler Reddick after the race at Darlington on Sunday. The YouTube video shows Buescher getting out of his car to confront Reddick for bumping into him during the final laps of the Goodyear 400. The video also includes the entire audio of the altercation.

“What was that?! What was that?!” Buescher yelled at Reddick while pushing him. Buescher then told Reddick “I raced you clean,” before Reddick apologized.

“I f-ed up. I’m sorry,” Reddick told Buescher before explaining what happened. Reddick also said that the last thing he wanted to do was wreck Buescher’s car.

Buescher went on to say, “I don’t have that sticker on my door. This means more. I need you to be better. We raced each other just fine for so long.”

Buescher had the lead with 10 laps remaining in the race. But the lead and the chance for a win disappeared when Reddick was battling Buescher and ran him into the wall, leading to both drivers heading to pit road due to damages to their cars. Ultimately, Brad Keselowski won the race and it was his first victory in 110 races.

Chris Buescher knows Tyler Reddick ‘messsed up’

After the altercation, Buescher talked about the final moments of the race. “We got wrecked. That one’s clear as day,” Buescher said. “Don’t need any cameras to tell us. But, I don’t know what to say. We’ve raced each other really clean through the years, try to be really respectful about it and we get used up. It’s something that you just know is not going to work. Just really pi--ed off about it right now. We certainly had a chance to win another one. I’m really proud to have that speed.

“Huge congratulations to Brad and the six bunch and Castrol on their win. That’s awesome but I wanted it for our Fifth Third Bank Group right here. Felt like we got used up. He knows he messed up, he said it. But it doesn’t change anything for us. I told him he’s got a win sticker on the door and we’re still trying to find ours. We get used up like that, take away those opportunities, it’s tough. That’s two weeks in a row we’ve had a shot to win races. One I’m going to live in my head forever on what I would have done different and this one here I needed someone else to be more mature about it.”
