Ram NASCAR Truck Series model leaked during 2026 Hemi event
David Rodriguez Munoz / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Hemi is making a comeback in the Ram 1500 lineup, but more importantly, Ram is coming back to NASCAR. News has been circulating for about a year that Stellantis is bringing the Ram to the Truck Series in 2026 and later, Dodge will return to the Cup Series.

Stellantis had a number of online creators and journalists at their headquarters this week to view the new Hemi V8 lineup. The automaker is recommitting to the Hemi V8, and that is a great sign for NASCAR fans for more than one reason.

Unfortunately for Auto Buyers Guide – Alex on Autos on YouTube, an editing oversight has leaked the 2026 Ram Truck Series model. This is our first look at the truck that will soon grace the tracks of the NASCAR circuit.

While the original video from Alex on Autos has been edited to take out the leak, you can’t hide much from social media. Nathan (@KensethFan17_20) on Twitter/X was able to snag the clip before it could be edited out of the YouTube video. There is also a screenshot showing the new Ram NASCAR Truck Series model.

Now here’s a kicker, Cleetus McFarland has been rumored as a potential part-time or full-time driver for a new Ram Truck Series team in NASCAR. Does this screenshot look like the 6’4″ YouTuber turned racer climbing into the driver’s seat?

A blurry screenshot is all we have for now, and it could be a random person. But things are starting to add up as more rumors and leaks like this come out.

Dodge, Ram investing in V8s and NASCAR

You gotta feel for the YouTube channel that leaked the Ram NASCAR truck. But we can’t thank them enough for giving up this sneak peek. It looks like the Ram badge is across the grille, and honestly, besides the fact that it is much too high off the ground, it looks solid.

Dodge and Ram are making a NASCAR comeback. NASCAR and Elton Sawyer said no one wants to invest in V8 engines. Well, Stellantis is doing just that. By the way, General Motors is making big investments in V8s as well. It seems that American automakers aren’t ready to give up on the engine that built stock car racing.

Last year, it was said by Sawyer that no one wanted to build a V8. There was talk about hybrid power units and things of that nature. NASCAR even sent representatives to take a look at Japanese hydrogen-combustion vehicles. With a fourth manufacturer ready to jump back on the wagon and put their money behind the V8, maybe that talk is done.

I would also note that it isn’t a coincidence that NASCAR and Sawyer have changed their tune recently. That is, on horsepower. Last week, it was said a horsepower increase in the Cup Series was on the table. With OEMs signaling investment on the consumer side in power, NASCAR can consider it. Hopefully, we get to see that power increase sooner rather than later.
